Does mudjacking concrete work, or is it more cost effective to re-pave?

I have some slopped concrete that I would one day like to get fixed. I’m wondering if mudjacking works, or if I’d be better off just re-paving the concrete instead. One contractor told me that mud jacking is very expensive and just a short-term fix.

How many tables should I be expected to serve?

I work in a hotel restaurant. Because of business demands on weekends, we only have one server who handles everything, hostessing, waiting tables, bussing, and bartending. We also have to plate our own soups and desserts. I recently had a busy weekend where I had a table of ten plus several other tables and people at the bar. Is it reasonable for management to expect one person to handle all this? Any specific guidelines to how many people, tables, etc. I should strive to be able to manage would be greatly appreciated.

Main Research Question:How can Design Education enable a design thinker to operate in the contemporary world?

Main Research Question:
How can Design Education enable a design thinker to operate in the contemporary world, and not so much on any particular discipline? The practical application of design.

Sub Problems:
1.The human brain. How do we think? How do we learn? What exactly is education? How does information play a role in my knowledge? How do I construct a mental model? How does consilence play a role in learning?
2.Ideas. Where do they come from? Is design a matter of problem solving or is it more than this?
3.How does the environment in which we learn play a role in education? How does mental and physical space play a role in both education and everyday life? In what context do we learn, and in what context does design take place, are these different?
4.Why is creativity so important in learning? How can other aspects of design play a role in the teaching thereof? How can education maintain inspiration?
5.Sustainability. What does this mean on an educational level?
6.Past models of education versus current models. What are these? What processes are involved in the fuzzy front end of design, and why is it just that…the “fuzzy” front end?
7.What exactly is technology and how does it play a role in education? What is intellectual technology? What is the difference? Where does all this fit into education?
8.Synthesis, integration, multi-disciplinary. Why are these key words in design education? The jump between education and the real world? How can the system help students deal with this?

Machine with Concrete – Arthur Ganson

This machine was inspired by dreaming about gear ratios and considering the unexpected implications of exponential powers. Each worm/worm gear pair reduces the speed of the motor by 1/50th. Since there are 12 pairs of gears, the final speed reduction is calculated by (1/50)12. The implications are quite large. With the motor turning around 200 revolutions per minute, it will take well over two trillion years before the final gear makes but one turn. Given the truth of this situation, it is possible to do anything at all with the final gear, even embed it in concrete.

Removing concrete slab to build wood deck but worried about water entering basement?

So I have a concrete slab attached to the back of my house that is in extremely bad shape (cracked, lifted). I want to add deck off the back of my house but to do so I have to remove the concrete first. What are my options after removing the concrete to keep water out of my basement since the concrete is currently keeping the water from soaking into the ground and getting in the basement. Also, what is the best process at removing the concrete and also disposing of it.
